Quarter life
OMG i am 25!!!! - a statement that has been running in my mind since 12 am of Sept 6. as I play my music and stare at this blank document, i start to realize why this “quarter life” journey means a lot to me.
I have been a crawling baby, a funny kid, a studious student, a stubborn carefree teenager, a party freak, a stupid romantic, a furious enemy, an independent lady, a protective daugther and friend, a believer of God and a lover of life and love.
I am not perfect, I am even way far from ideal. For sure there are people who don’t like me, who doesn’t approve of what I do and those who continue to critize me.. but still I continue to be me and I guess that’s what makes me different. I choose to be imperfect. I take risks and I am not afraid to fall and get hurt. Maybe that’s just how i want to learn and in the process, that’s what makes me stronger.
On the other hand, I also appreciate those who accept me despite the imperfections and those who look way behind them. One of which are my friends..most of them I’ve had petty fights and misunderstandings but we have always learned to laugh off the trouble and continue to be crazy!! hahaha I’ve been in a big group of friends with different personalities and the value of true friendship served as our common ground no matter how far away we are from each other or no matter how long we’ve not been together. I love them so much and as I see how they have all grown up, I am amased on how great these people continue to be.
And of course, the best example would be my parents..they’ve seen the worst of me and we’ve been in hell and back with fights, yet they never let me down and they’ve proven to be the bestest parents for me. They took care of me since day one, disciplined me in a way that I’ve learned the importance of values and nurtured me with overflowing love. Now I promise that I will be the one to take care of them and give back as much love and care that they deserve. As the saying goes, you start and will end with family.
It was 25 crazy years with fruitful memories and lessons learned. A quarter that surely made me realise what I have lost, gained, and what I still need to have to face the “real life” that’s infront of me. I am still a work in progress and I thank God that He gave me this life that I enjoy to live with the people who are important to me.
To all those I’ve hurted, My apologies. To all those who did me wrong, thank you. To my family and friends..thank you and I love you with all my heart!! To my creator, thank you and please continue to guide me.
